Frustrating weekend for Tressler - 09/06/14

It was a frustrating weekend for Relssert Racing’s Neil Tressler with persistent fuel pump issues throughout the meeting.

Only being able to complete 3 laps during qualifying Neil was forced to start from the back of the grid for race one and two.

Fuel pump changed for race one it was soon time to head out on track however with more fuel pressure issues it was soon time for a trip into the pits, despite getting the #37 Isuzu Pickup Truck back out Neil couldn’t complete enough laps therefore not being classified.

More work continued between races and it was soon clear that the issue was still there as race two commenced, running only half the fuel pressure, Neil continued with the idea being damage limitation to finish the race to collect as many point as possible, managing a highly respectable 11th place.

Concluding the race and with the mystery fuel pressure issue still present the team along with Andrew Parker from AP Racing Engines set to work to find the issue, which eventually came down to a bad earth on the wiring.

“It is frustrating” say Neil “but that’s racing, the pickup handle extremely well considering we we’re running only half the fuel pressure” Neil continued “It was a case of just finishing the race and not over cooking it.”

The next port of call for the 2014 Pickup Truck Racing Championship is Thruxton in just 4 days time where rounds 7 & 8 will be taking place.
