The star-spangled banner will be flying high over Rockingham this summer when the Northamptonshire circuit hosts its inaugural all-American auto festival, featuring the first ever Rockingham 100.
Celebrating all things Americana, from prestige classics to raw race cars, Cars & Stripes brings together all the razzmatazz from across the pond to a British family audience, so rodeo down to Rockingham on bank holiday Monday, August 31.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the incredible thrill of being within touching distance of the infamous Rockingham wall as they ride shotgun in a genuine NASCAR on the UK’s only banked Oval.
For those wanting to drive themselves, there is the chance to get behind the wheel of some of the US muscle-car greats and feel the roar around Rockingham’s Lake Circuit with the guys and dolls from Classic American Muscle Experience.
Indy Cars will once again reverberate at Rockingham and with show-stopping parades from an array of American classics including Mustangs, Harleys, Hot Rods and Trucks, visitors will be spoilt for choice.
Celebrities from the world of motorsport will be out in force and there will be the chance to get up close and personal, collecting autographs or taking snaps in Victory Lane or during the Fan Zone pit road walkabout.
If that wasn’t enough, the Pickup Truck Championship will be headlining the racing action. A firm favourite with the home crowd, the drivers will battle bumper-to-bumper at breathtaking speeds over two race heats to secure their place in the grand final of The Rockingham 100.
Owners of classic American cars and bikes will be there to show off their pride and joy in the Cars & Stripes Show & Shine competition, and trade stands will provide memorabilia galore, both new and pre-loved in the Americana Auto Jumble.
Although the Rockingham grandstand provides unprecedented views of the whole track, visitors will be able to roam the venue and catch all the action from infield viewing areas and on top of the pit garage roof.
Rockingham Chief Executive, Peter Hardman, said: “Rockingham was built to host US-style racing, and Cars & Stripes is going to be a great celebration of American auto racing together with lots of fun entertainment.
“We’d like to invite 500 lucky fans to become part of the new Rockingham 500 Club, so the first 500 tickets sold will include membership, giving exclusive access to some very special privileges on the day at Cars & Stripes.”

Partygoers can make a date to camp over the night before and join in the Country & Western Rodeo Hoedown in the Barn Bar. Camping pitches for Sunday (August 30) are £5 per adult, £3.50 for children or £15 for a family of up to five.
