Round 1 & 2 of the 2021 Pickup Truck Racing Championship at Mallory Park Complete
After almost 2 years out of the truck it's fair to say we were a little excited to be back, along with it being our first meeting on the Mallory Park 1 mile oval.
With the spotters in their socially distanced pens it was time for race one with a busy grid of 22 trucks. Going green the charging pack entered turn 1 but a squeezing pack left the #37 truck unbalanced and pirouetting on the grass, this didn't put Neil off as he charged on through the pack getting back up to 15th place.
After some repairs to the rear quarter panel and a few tweaks race 2 commenced, Neil got a great start however lap 19 saw the safety car out bunching the whole field back together. A final dash over 2 laps saw a fantastic battle with Neil finishing in 13th
Lots learnt and and fantastic day back on track.
