With Rogers getting lose on lap seventeen a caution flag was thrown out momentarily however disaster struck on lap eighteen when the #82 Pickup Truck of Paul Jones landed hard in the wall at the entrance of turn two, ending in a safety car. As the race continued Tressler advanced managing to secure a highly respectable ninth place.
