Tressler looks to gather momentum at Rockingham - 17/08/12

Relssert Racing’s Neil Tressler heads to Rockingham Motor Speedway this weekend for his first oval outing of the year in rounds 16 & 17, of the Pickup Truck Racing Series.

The series front-runner, whose activity in the series dates back to 2007, including a fourth place finish in the overall standings and a second place finish in the 2011 Rockingham Championship, endured a tough outing last time out at Hampshire’s Thruxton circuit, and will be looking for some strong results to help him realise his aim of a top ten championship finish this weekend.

Warwickshire based driver Tressler, who also has numerous outings in the EURO RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series to his name, is no stranger to oval racing, having produced some of his best results on the Rockingham oval in the past.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Tressler remains confident that he can produce two solid top five finishes to boost his momentum as the season begins to draw to a close.

“This has got to be my favourite meeting of the year,” said Tressler. “In my opinion much more skill is needed on an oval because everything needs to be precise and you really need to keep that momentum going.”

“I’ve shown very well here at Rockingham in the past and I really think that we can push for some top five results this weekend, I really want to establish myself in top ten of the championship before the season is out.”

Qualifying for the Pickup Truck Racing Championship will get underway on Saturday, 18th August, at 17:30, with rounds 16 & 17 on Sunday, 19th August, at 13:35 and 16:25 respectively.
