A trip to Rockingham Motor Speedway will be on the mind of Relssert Racing’s Neil Tressler this weekend (1/2 Setember), as the Pickup Truck Racing Series returns for its second consecutive visit to the Northamptonshire oval for rounds 18 & 19.
Warwickshire based driver Tressler, renowned for a fourth place finish in the championship previously, failed to realise his ambition of establishing himself within the top five on his first oval visit of 2012, after a chaotic weekend of racing at Europe’s fastest racing circuit.
With just four meetings remaining in the 2012 campaign, Tressler currently lies in 13th position in the championship standings, having missed numerous rounds due to his racing commitments in the EURO-RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series.
Boasting the title of Vice Champion in the 2011 Rockingham Oval Championship however, Tressler will be looking to return to form and propel himself back into contention for a top ten championship finish this weekend.
“I’m raring to go ahead of Rockingham this weekend,” explained Tressler. “We didn’t enjoy the best of luck last time out, but that’s racing for you at times.”
“I have a very good track record at Rockingham on the oval, so looking ahead to the weekend, I think that we can really push hard to compete inside the top ten.”
“With just four meetings remaining in the championship, I’ll be working very hard to ensure that I secure myself a top ten finish at the end of the season.”
Qualifying for the Pickup Truck Racing Championship will get underway on Saturday, 1st September, at 15:45, with rounds 18 & 19 on Sunday, 2nd September, at 12:50 and 16:35 respectively.
