Relssert Racing’s Neil Tressler hopes for solid finishes or even a spot on ‘Victory Lane’ when the 2013 Pickup Truck Racing Championship rolls in to the world-famous Brands Hatch circuit (8-9 June).
A bumper crowd is expected to turn out at Brands Hatch for the American Speedfest – powered by Chevrolet event (8-9 June), when the Kent circuit will be adorned with the Stars and Stripes and transformed into a scene from Daytona.
The Euro Racecar NASCAR Touring Series heads a bill of all-American race action, which incorporates Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2013 Pickup Truck Racing Championship.
On his last visit to Brands Hatch in April, Tressler challenged for a top four finish before unforeseen reliability issues side-lined him for the rest of the weekend.
The Warwickshire-based racer will revel in the vibrant atmosphere of the American Speedfest and is confident he can translate the raw speed he showed earlier this year into solid race results.
“I’m expecting this to be one of the biggest race meetings of the season; there will be a great atmosphere,” said an enthused Tressler. “Relssert Racing has a lot of people coming along in support, so I dearly hope something comes of the weekend and we’re able to translate our pace into solid results.
“Given the raw pace I had at Brands Hatch earlier in the year, I have to aim for top five finishes in both races. If I qualify well, I know I can pick off a few drivers during the races, but I just hope to put on a good show for the crowds.”
Pickup Truck Racing qualifying will take place at 14.30 on Saturday (8 June), with Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2013 season scheduled for 11.00 and 14.30 respectively on Sunday (9 June).
