Tressler remains in the hunt for top ten Pickup Truck Racing Series finish

Relssert Racing’s Neil Tressler endured a chaotic visit to Rockingham Motor Speedway this weekend (18/19 August), as the Pickup Truck Racing Series rolled into Northamptonshire for the first, of a two meeting run at the oval layout in rounds 16 & 17 of the championship.

Determined to improve on his championship cause, the 2011 Rockingham Championship runner-up qualified 12th and 13th respectively, for rounds 16 & 17 on Europe’s fastest banked oval.

The Warwickshire based driver, renowned for his previous fourth place finish in the championship, was unable to capitalise on his oval knowledge during the course of the meeting, exiting the weekend with a 12th and 11th place finish respectively, after incidents in both races caused the front-runner to lift off in the latter stages of the race.

Despite being unable to attain his top five targets over the weekend, Tressler remains confident of a top ten championship challenge as he currently sits in 13th position behind Pete Stevens.

“I’m a little disappointed with how the weekend went for us,” explained Tressler. “We have a very good track record here at Rockingham so it’s a shame to have been outside the top ten on both occasions.”

“The weekend was quite chaotic in both races so I’m pleased that we still remain in contention for a top ten championship finish, I’m just looking forward to getting back on track at Rockingham for the next meeting now.”

The Pickup Truck Racing Series will resume action at the renowned Rockingham Motor Speedway on 1/2 September.
