Tressler targets strong performance at Thruxton - 27/07/12

Relssert Racing’s Neil Tressler heads to Thruxton circuit this weekend as the Pickup Truck Racing Championship rolls into the Hampshire venue for rounds 14 & 15 of the UK based championship.

Tressler, whose activity in the series dates back to 2007, including a fourth place finish in the overall standings and a second place finish in the Rockingham championship in 2011, showed well last time out at Donington Park, returning to the series to scoop two top-ten finishes before skipping the Brands Hatch meeting to compete at Tours in the EURO-RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series.

The Warwickshire based racer returns to Thruxton having never previously finished outside of the top-ten on his annual visit to the 2.36 mile circuit, boding well as he aims to progress in the championship standings from a current placing of 13th position.

“Thruxton is a very challenging circuit but I’m really looking forward to racing there again this weekend,” said Tressler.

“We had an issue with the gearbox after Donington but now that it’s all sorted I expect to go out there and produce some strong finishes, I’ve always finished in to the top ten there.”

“My aim for the remainder of the season is to re-establish myself within the top-ten of the championship standings after missing a few rounds due to racing in the EURO-RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series, I’m looking forward to rising to the challenge.”

Qualifying for the Pickup Truck Racing Championship will get underway on Saturday, 28th July, at 12:45, with round 14 at 17:30. Round 15 will commence on Sunday, 29th July, at 13:45.
